THAT RED RASH ON YOUR SKIN COULD SIGNAL A SERIOUS INTERNAL PROBLEM

Most know that a barometer predicts weather changes in advance of their arrival, but few of us are aware that our skin is the window on our body’s internal mechanisms and can predict health and illness far in advance. These signs are often very subtle, though, and require the trained eye and awareness of a specialist we know as a Dermatologist. This Dermatologist will not necessarily treat the internal problem but they can be the starting point for you. Our skins are the largest organs in our body and certainly the heaviest. So they have a great responsibility to us.

Joseph P. Bark MD is a longtime Dermatologist who has tried to simplify the signs and even some simple cautionary treatments for common and simple skin problems. In his wonderful book called “Skin Secrets” he documents such things as birth marks and where they come from, do we have to treat them etc.; skin infections like warts, impetigo, and other common rashes etc.; poison ivy and oak and how to treat it properly; restoring acne-scarred skin dandruff and some simple treatments; the differences between male and female skin…and there are many; cancers and their indicators. The list goes on, even to our burgeoning wrinkles as we grow older.

There are so many things we can and should be doing for dry skin, especially in cold climes where the heat is so dry. The old-time practice of bathing only once or twice a week, for instance, worked for the pioneers and it can work for us today. The important thing they tell us is to spot-wash our bodies. That way you will not be driving away friends all winter long. Seriously, this great book would be worth a fortune to you just to keep on your bookshelf for emergencey use with your family.
